Howe ruined family's Saturday night rewatching horror show

EDDIE HOWE hopes his masochistic tendencies can haul Newcastle back on track at Southampton today.

The Magpies chief has been beating himself up since former club Bournemouth hammered his side at St James' Park last Saturday.

Indeed, his period of penance began that afternoon when he forced himself to watch the Toon horror show (above) all over again within minutes of arriving home.

Howe is adamant putting himself through such torture is the best way to bounce back.

"It stings and it hurts, but I had to watch it straight away," he said. "Great Saturday night for my family!

"I needed to find what I think are the answers for my own peace of mind.
