YOU might be feeling the pinch after the Chancellor Rachel Reeves lays out her Budget proposals today with pundits reckoning taxes are set to increase.
But could you actually save some cash by looking after your health better?
Here JAMES MOORE looks at the habits that may be taking a toll on your body and your wallet - and reveals how you could save a fortune by making some timely changes...
What: Puffing on those cigarettes is now eye-wateringly expensive and is taking a toll on your long-term health.
Health risk: As well as lung and heart disease, smoking raises your risk of developing diabetes, dementia and having a stroke as well as erectile dysfunction. It can damage hearing and eyesight too.
Your new policy: Quitting. It could add up to 10 years to your life expectancy. Try it in the new year. The Royal Society of Public Health found that smokers were three times more likely to succeed then.
