HURT Tom Grennan faces a race against time to get ready for Soccer Aid.

Fingers crossed it won't be game over as the singer recovers from surgery on a nasty tendon tear in his right leg.

Ironically, Tom picked up the injury while taking part in a previous football match for the charity, and it just grew worse.

He told me: "Me and [ex-Man Utd star] Patrice Evra, he's the loveliest man, but as soon as the whistle blows, he's out to get me.

"The first year I did it, he took me out, put me on crutches!"
