Maverick Cunha lights up OT
WHEN Matheus Cunha collected the ball in his own half and ran through the Arsenal defence, he took Old Trafford fans out of their seats.
Few have done that in recent times without scoring.
Cristiano Ronaldo on his return maybe. Bruno Fernandes at times, but he is more mastery than maverick.
That's what Cunha is - a maverick, and Old Trafford loves those, which is why they adored Eric Cantona and hailed Wayne Rooney.
Now the summer signing from Wolves is a million miles away from reaching the heights those two did at United.
But he's the type of player that United fans will fall in love with and that love affair started against Arsenal and he didn't even score.
That first-half run ended with him just running out of steam, which meant his shot was weak and easy to save.
