When I was starting out promoting boxing, three of the first fighters I signed were Scousers.

Keith Wallace, Jimmy Duncan and Stevie Johnson were all ABA champions and guys big promoters were looking at.

But they signed for me in my first year and put their faith in me. We did some great shows together.

Ever since then I’ve loved the fight scene in Liverpool. Although, as an Arsenal fan, I’m not too happy about the football team at the moment!

But the fans get behind the local boxers and they come out in numbers.
