If you are looking for the perfect weekend away where your pet pooch can join you on all your adventures, you’d be hard pushed to find somewhere better than Somerset.

Earlier this year, I was invited to spend a weekend in the county with my two dogs, husband and daughter. We got to experience much of what the beautiful area has to offer ~ furry family members included.

Our base for the trip was Montigo Resorts Somerset at Charlton House.

We stayed in a peaceful garden room, inset, where our pooches were greeted with bowls and beds, while a rolltop bath and walk-in shower awaited us.

Once we had checked in, we made our way to Emma's Orchard in Hornblotton.

Just a five-minute drive away, the secure field is the perfect place for dogs to stretch their legs - especially nervous ones like my pup, Paisley.
