Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Sir Mark Rowley, is living in a parallel universe if he believes crime in London is falling.

So, the murder rate fell! It can be measured! Yet, not all violent crime, knife crime, phone theft and burglary, is. Is overt shop theft included, where staff are threatened at knifepoint as they are robbed? Whilst official figures indicate there are 250 gangs operating in our capital - 82 of them, foreign, the MET chief insists that 80% of people feel safe on London's streets. How many women and girls he has spoken to? Oxbridge educated, Rowley, seems typical of the political establishment, who are skilled in selective euphemisms. Jim Sokol
