SOUTHAMPTON won for the first time since the end of September last night with a 2-1 triumph at QPR - just days after sacking manager Will Still.

CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND-UP

Still was dismissed on Sunday after just two Championship victories all season.

Men's Under-21s head coach Tonda Eckert has taken over on an interim basis and he saw his side score twice in 14 second-half minutes at Loftus Road.

Jay Robinson broke the deadlock in the 55th minute and then Leo Scienza made it 2-0 in the 69th minute.

But it was far from a nerveless finale for Eckert as QPR hit back in the 73rd minute through Rumarn Burrell.

But Saints held on to take the points.
