Sky Blues welcome back hero Mark but he says it’s ‘just another game’

IT WILL surprise no one at Coventry that Mark Robins was downplaying his return to the club this lunchtime.

Stoke’s boss said the spotlight should be on his players, not him, as he prepared to revisit a club which he breathed fresh life into during an incredible seven-and-a-half-year rise.

Robins made a nonsense of the footballing adage that you should never return when he lifted the Sky Blues up by their bootstraps.

Taking over an ailing League Two club in 2017 and by promoting local talent and making shrewd acquisitions, the former Manchester United striker battled against hated ownership and losing a base within Coventry to lift it to within two penalty shoot-outs of glory.
