Police are running out of time to find missing Brit

THE prime suspect in Madeleine’s disappearance has bragged that he can’t wait to walk free — and tuck into a “proper steak with a beer”.

Christian Brueckner invited a TV crew into the jail near Hanover where he is serving a seven-year sentence for rape.

German cops believe the monster snatched Madeleine in 2007.

Brueckner claimed he was wrongly convicted of the rape of a 72-year-old woman in Praia da Luz the year before.

He is due for release later this year.

He whined: “I was assaulted by another inmate - at least one rib was broken. I now stay in my cell 24 hours a day.”

Brueckner, 48, said when he is freed he will go into hiding as he is “as well-known as a colourful dog”. He added he is “most looking forward to a proper steak with a beer”.
