PROPERTY guru Phil Spencer is all too aware of the cost of moving house. And with millions of Brits now priced out of the market, is it any wonder that caravans are now so popular? Here Phil sits down for an exclusive chat with CARLY HACON about his new business helping people move into their dream mobile home...

Phil fixes caravans CARRY ON

BY the time Phil Spencer sits down for our chat, he's already sounding fired up - and it isn't because he's just filmed another episode of Location, Location, Location.

This time, Britain's best-known property guru is focused on something closer to home. He is concerned about the thousands of caravan and lodge owners quietly being fleeced by a system that hides behind Britain's booming staycation trend.

After digging into the holiday home market last year, Phil didn't just complain. He put his money where his mouth is, investing in a new consumer-first website - LodgesAndCaravans.ForSale - designed to help everyday owners escape what he calls a rigged game.

"This is not a fair marketplace," he tells the Daily Star. "It's a very biased marketplace. It's a broken system."

At a time when millions of Brits are priced out of bricks-and-mortar homes, caravans and lodges have exploded in popularity. Nearly 440,000 pitches now dot more than 6,000 parks across the UK, promising families an affordable slice of coastal or countryside heaven.

But new research suggests that dream is fast turning into a nightmare.
