Littler cannot bye a weekly Prem win

- BY JOSHUA PECK and ANDY DEAN

EVEN a bye to the semifinal couldn't help Luke Littler get his first Premier League nightly win of the year.

Littler won a record six times on his way to the final last year, but is winless across the first three weeks this time out.

The back-to-back world champion was given a free pass into the last four following the withdrawal of the unwell Michael van Gerwen in Glasgow last night.

But the Nuke was beaten 6-1 by Jonny Clayton, who averaged 101 in their semifinal.

The Welshman then went on to win the first Scottish leg of the season by hammering Gian van Veen 6-2 in the final.

Clayton said: "I felt good tonight. Didn't expect the 6-1 against Luke, but I felt good.

"When your finishing goes good, the confidence is up. Tonight was my night."
