STEPHEN BUNTING invoked his inner Lionel Messi after he took the Premier League by storm in Berlin.

The Bullet had suffered eight miserable weeks, being knocked out in the first round of each night in the new campaign.

But he loaded his weapons in Germany to win three matches in a row, gunning down Nathan Aspinall, Luke Humphries and Gerwyn Price to claim week nine victory and then woke up in his hotel still holding onto his prize.

"OMG. Wow. What can I say," said Bunting after trying to recreate Messi's picture in bed with the World Cup after winning it with Argentina in 2022.

"This trophy has to be one of the best I've been in bed with.
