RUUD van Nistelrooy says he can relate to ultimate winner Jamie Vardy.

After two months working with the former England striker, Leicester's boss believes his desire is the secret to his success.

Vardy is the current generation's rags-to-riches tale as a footballer, coming from the factory floor to win the Premier League and receive international recognition.

And even though the forward turned 38 last month, his coach says the will to win remains at the heart of everything he does.

Van Nistelrooy worked hard at his own game to establish himself as a top-class forward for Manchester United (inset) and Real Madrid.

And he can see something of himself in the club's captain.
