Bruno on snubbing CR7 and Saudi millions

EVEN a breathtaking offer from Saudi Arabia and talks with Cristiano Ronaldo could not tempt Bruno Fernandes to give up on his ambitions of lifting major honours at Manchester United.

The Portuguese midfielder is set to make his 300th appearance for United against Brighton tonight, just under five years on from his electric impact after arriving in Manchester from Sporting Lisbon.

“There was nothing else in my head other than making it in the Premier League, because it was my dream to play for this club for many years,” Fernandes said.

That dream almost came to an end in the summer when Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal made a bid to sign United's captain.

Fernandes puffed his cheeks as he conceded their offer was “very good”.

He said: “I spoke with Cristiano about the situation, about Saudi and everything. I wouldn't say what he told me, but we spoke about it.”

Fernandes revealed coach Jorge Jesus, who left Al-Hilal in May before joining Ronaldo’s side Al-Nassr, had also spoken to him in the past about a potential move.
