GILMOUR TOUCHES DOWN TO BACK THE BOYS BUT FEARS FOR McTOMINAY A REAL SICKENER

June 12, 2026

STRICKEN Billy Gilmour has checked into Scotland's camp here in Boston - as fears grow that Scott McTominay might be the next big name to be KO'd from their World Cup opener.

- FROM KEITH JACKSON IN Boston

Gilmour was reunited with Steve Clarke's squad last night almost a fortnight after his dream of starring on the biggest stage was shattered by a knee injury suffered during the Hampden send-off against Curacao on May 30 (right).

Now his Napoli team-mate McTominay is also sparking concerns ahead of the Group C opener against Haiti, missing training yesterday with a suspected dose of food poisoning. The medics are confident the midfielder will recover in time but he was missing from the final session at Charlotte FC's state-of-the-art facility before the team made the 850-mile trip north to Massachusetts.
