Amorim calls on Sir Alex to guide him during slump

RUBEN AMORIM has turned to Sir Alex Ferguson for help as he struggles to cope with being Manchester United manager.

Amorim has been left floundering in the wake of a shambolic run of just one win in the last eight games in all competitions.

But he admitted Fergie had urged him to stay positive.

He said: "I speak with Sir Alex several times. I try to call him to keep being positive."

The latest blow came with Sunday's crushing 3-1 home loss to Brighton, a defeat which left United languishing in 13th place and odds-on with some bookies to finish in the bottom half of the table.
