FEEL THE POWER OF PRAYER

IT WAS only two weeks ago that we watched Whirl go down on her shield in the Oaks, and today the horse that was runner-up to her in the Musidora has her first try over 1m4f in the Ribblesdale Stakes.

SERENITY PRAYER (3.40) only has the two starts to her name, but considering how the form in the Musidora has worked out, she sets the standard for me.

She looks very straightforward, with a likeable win at Newbury in April, followed by her game second at York last month.

The Musidora was fairly strongly run, but even so, Serenity Prayer lacked the pace of the winner over 1m2f. Her Top Speed of 38.54 mph was the slowest of any runner, and where Whirl was able to clock two sub 12 second furlongs half a mile from home, she could only had one.
