Getaways surge in bid to escape rain

SUN-seeking Brits are making last-minute escapes after the spring scorcher was replaced by depressing downpours.
Bank holiday bookings surged by 30% earlier this week as heavy rain, hail and thunder are set to sweep across the UK this weekend.
Bookings for Tenerife, Antalya and Lanzarote have taken off with 22C highs expected next week.
