Iwobi and senior pros are not Joshing around

- BY PAUL BROWN

ROUGH diamonds sometimes need a polish before they can fully sparkle - and Josh King is no exception.

But the Fulham teenager looks to be in the right place to fulfil his potential because his teammates clearly have his back.

King gifted Brentford the opening goal in this west London derby with a careless, blind pass that was punished by Mikkel Damsgaard.

But it wasn't just the way Fulham roared back with goals from Alex Iwobi, Harry Wilson and an own goal from Ethan Pinnock which stood out.

It was the way they stood up for their young forward, who was clearly distraught at his mistake and held his head in his hands afterwards.

Iwobi led the way, immediately going over to console and gee him up, and others followed.

Even at halftime, you could tell King was still dwelling on his mistake as the teams came off with Fulham already 2-1 up.

But Iwobi was right there by his side, arm around him, telling him, “It doesn't matter”.
