IT WAS back in September when Casemiro was hooked at half-time against Liverpool and it looked like his career in the Premier League was over.

It may still come to an end this summer, but he is at least showing signs he wants to fight to stay at the top level.

The Manchester United midfielder had caused two goals as Liverpool ran rampant at Old Trafford that day.

There was criticism from everywhere for a player who looked like his time was up. The player himself was devastated.

His wife Anna Mariana Casemiro posted a picture online of her husband's vast trophy collection. Five European Cups - only four clubs have won more than him - were the centrepiece of the haul.

Those close to the player knew he was hurting. Of course it wasn't his first bad performance for United.
