Food scheme ‘pointless gimmick’
RETAILERS have blasted plans of voluntary price caps on basic foods such as bread and milk.
Downing Street is said to be drawing up proposals where shops can choose which items should have a price limit. Think tank the Institute of Economic Affairs labelled the idea a “pointless gimmick”.
