Fish and chips are up as cost of living bites

THE cost-of-living crisis is biting deeper with rocketing prices - and nowhere more than the nation’s favourite fish and chips.

A portion of haddock and chips now costs an average of £10.29 while cod and chips is £11.41, experts say.

Around 7,210 chippies operate across the UK, according to industry body Seafish which compiled the report.
