BRIAN Blessed says it was torture filming Flash Gordon with a cable strapped around his groin for flying scenes.
The foghorn-voiced actor played Prince Vultan, leader of the Hawkmen, in the sci-fi flick.
Brian, 87, inset, said he suffered for his art during the movie's climax - a battle in the skies that saw him dangling on wires with giant wings on his back.
