Wane support for 'champion bloke' Jack ahead of the crucial second Ashes Test

- BY JOSH MCALLISTER

ENGLAND boss Shaun Wane has thrown his full support behind fullback Jack Welsby following a difficult display in the opening Ashes Test.

The hosts were thumped 26-6 by a ruthless Australian outfit at Wembley, with superstar Reece Walsh grabbing the headlines on his international debut with two tries and a handful of huge moments to prevent England from scoring in the first half.

Welsby struggled to make an impact under the famous arch, with George Williams and Mikey Lewis selected in the halves for the first Test.
