Arne's spunked £450m to make champs WORSE ...he has to go
Daily Star
|November 28, 2025
SOME people believe Liverpool sacking Arne Slot would be madness.
On the grounds that he won the Premier League title last season, and was allowed to spend £450m on new signings in the summer.
But these are precisely two of the many reasons why Liverpool's owners should now be considering a managerial change.
Because it is becoming abundantly clear that Slot is out of his depth as Reds boss.
He has no answers to the problems engulfing him and his team - and allowing this to continue would be the real madness.
This is a team which is a reflection of him.
Unlike last season, when the side which cantered to the league title was one which still had Jurgen Klopp's fingerprints all over it.
Slot just tweaked it here and there, while taking advantage of Manchester City's collapse and Arsenal's inability to last the distance. But fast forward 12 months and this current side now includes Slot's significant signings and supposed tactics - and is in the middle of a crisis which has infected all aspects of the club's season.
