Paceman Jofra reveals secret chat behind England's fighting spirit

- by MIKE WALTERS

JOFRA ARCHER harnessed the 94mph whirlwind of his Test comeback as England added their own side dish to the Lord's menu - chirps with everything.

Once pulse rates have reverted to normal, after the nail-biting tension of their 22-run win against India in the third Test, two of the defining images from another gripping contest will stay in the domain of England's comeback king.

Archer's joyous celebration, after taking a wicket with the third ball of his first Test appearance in more than four years, was one.

And loose cannon Rishabh Pant's cartwheeling off stump, as India's fourth-innings run chase ran into a turbocharged free spirit, was decorated by the conquering bowler's sendoff.

Archer, 30, revealed England had dispensed with tugging forelocks and dreadlocks to form their own chorus line after India resorted to in-your-face confrontation.

England's sportsmanship, consoling distraught Mohammed Siraj - India's chirpiest bowler by far - and unbeaten batsman Ravi Jadeja, when Shoaib Bashir winkled out the No.11 in the nick of time on Monday, was beyond reproach.
