Flying Scot is taking it easy after tree KO cost him big time last year
LUMBERJACK Gary Anderson has promised to lay down his chainsaw after his trunk and disorderly blowout at Alexandra Palace.
Twelve months ago, the ‘Flying Scotsman’ suffered a shock 3-0 defeat by Jeffrey de Graaf at the Paddy Power PDC World Championship and revealed he had been struggling with a shoulder injury caused by tree felling on his Somerset fishing estate.
But while the two-time world champion admits he did not pull up any trees last year, he insists the darts old guard is ready for one last hurrah at a venue where only Michael van Gerwen has won more matches than Anderson himself.
The No.14 seed begins his 25th World Championship campaign against Adam Hunt on Saturday night, saying: ‘T've got a hell of a lot of work to do at the fishing lakes and this is the time of year we've got to do it.
