LATE STRIKE SAVES GUNNERS
-
RENEE SLEGERS called for VAR in the WSL after her side were denied victory over Chelsea due to two controversial decisions.
Alessia Russo's late equaliser gave Arsenal a deserved 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium after Alyssa Thompson's fine solo opener, as Chelsea equalled their WSL record of 33 games unbeaten.
But it could have been a statement win for the Gunners if goals from Stina Blackstenius and Frida Maanum were not dubiously ruled out, first for handball then for offside.
