Enyaq's electric baby brother doesn't quite live up to the badge

A new range-topping Skoda Elroq brings 335bhp, four-wheel drive, and some sporting character. So does it work? We take a closer look.

WHAT IS IT?

The firm's vRS badge has graced many models over the years, from petrol and diesels to hybrids. They have a cult following to rival the best from Ford and VW. In 2022, Skoda raised eyebrows in the vRS fraternity by putting the letters on an electric car. But the Enyaq vRS SUV and coupe-SUV added extra spice and aggression to an excellent family motor. Now Skoda has done the same to the Enyaq's baby brother.

WHAT'S NEW?

The formula is familiar - twin motors, extra power, lowered ride height, adjustable chassis control, big wheels, and lurid Hyper Green paintwork and interior trim. It's extra garnish to what is already an excellent small electric SUV - one that became Europe's bestselling EV in April - so there's still the same comfy interior, exterior tech, and spacious rear accommodation.
