Keane loving second wind

MICHAEL KEANE thought his Everton career was over this summer, and he's delighted to have been given a second chance.

A £25million signing from Burnley in 2017, the centre-back, who returns to face Manchester United tomorrow, is still loving life on Merseyside.

With the five-year deal he signed during lockdown under Carlo Ancelotti in August 2020 having expired this summer, his time looked to be coming to a close, but in July it was announced he had a new one-year deal.

And with Everton's top asset, Jarrad Branthwaite, sidelined for the season so far with a hamstring injury - which has now required an operation — Keane, 32, has stepped up to shine.
