Summer drought has crisped lawns into arid prairies and left herbaceous borders as dry as dustbowls. Don't despair! Take a walk around your garden or local park and you'll discover vibrant jungles - with lurking tigers to behold.

Wildlife enthusiasts are hailing 2025 the Year of the Jersey Tiger - a celebration of Britain's most beautiful daytime moth and a creature that would have left 18th century poet William Blake lost for words.

Blake immortalised the “fearful symmetry" of the striped big cat in his lyric poem, The Tyger, which ponders creation through the prism of the innocence and ferocity of nature.

One can only muse the stanzas he'd have penned if witnessing today's spectacular influx of Jersey Tigers burning brightly across a large swathe of southern England.
