Speaking of time, today is a momentous day because it's 40 years ago EXACTLY since teenage skateboarder Marty McFly climbed into a pimped-up Delorean, hit 88mph and travelled back in time.

I know what you're thinking: that’s just a movie, it didn’t happen. And you're right.

The depiction of the horrible bully Biff becoming the most powerful man in America - with a chain of tacky hotels and a fondness for extramarital affairs - has NOTHING to do with real life.

This is good news for me, because once upon a time I did a bit of time-travelling on Earth, to New York in 1988, and I lost a sports almanac somewhere near Trump Tower.

I’m glad this didn’t have any unwanted and calamitous repercussions for the spacetime continuum or I'd feel awful. Phew.
