I REMEMBER it like it was yesterday...

I was mucking about with a Bunsen burner and not paying attention in chemistry class when my mate Gary passed me a CD that would change my life.

On the cover was a bunch of lads in a front room, one sat playing the guitar and another lying in middle of the floor next to a glass of wine.

I took it home, listened to it and it shook me.

Up to that point I was an immature 14-year-old with limited interest in music other than the chart hits that played on Top Of The Pops every week.

But after listening to the piercing vocals and guitars, and drums hit-ting like steam train into my eardrums on that album, I felt like I'd grown up and wanted to take on the world.

The album was Definitely Maybe, by the then unheard of Oasis.
