COWAN-DICKIE INJURY BLOW

- ADAM HATHAWAY

Don't Luke as hooker KO'd

LUKE COWAN-DICKIE handed the Lions another injury nightmare with the first Test looming this Saturday when he was carried off in this eight-try win.

On a night when several tourists pressed their cases for inclusion against Australia in Brisbane, hooker Cowan-Dickie looks set to miss out.

Scotland centre Huw Jones was impressive and, with Garry Ringrose ruled out for Saturday, was taken off after 50 minutes.

That gave Owen Farrell his first action of the tour and he had a hand in three scores.

There was a hat-trick for Scotland wing Duhan van der Merwe, who has had a torrid time on tour, and his third meant the Scots had scored the first six tries - a sequence broken by Ireland's Ronan Kelleher on 69 minutes.

Sale front rower Cowan-Dickie copped a nasty blow to the head tackling former Northampton lock Lukhan Salakaia-Loto and was treated by medics on the pitch before he was driven off on a motorised buggy (above).
