1 the first US President, George Washington, chose the site, but the first to live there was second incumbent, John Adams. He moved in during the year 1800.

2 number of Presidents who have died there: William Harrison (1841), and Zachary Taylor (1850).

3 the number of First Ladies who have died there, the first being Letitia Tyler, wife of President John Tyler who died in 1842 from a stroke, aged 51.

12 ghosts. The property is reckoned to be inhabited by a clutch of spooks including the spirit of former President Abraham Lincoln. A dozen children have also been born there.
