Citroen has often succeeded in delivering plenty of space and practicality, but it sometimes misses out on character.

But that could soon change with the launch of the new e-C3, which has evolved into a funky compact crossover. And to boost appeal, Citroen now offers the car with an electric powertrain and a low price tag.

WHAT'S NEW?

With a new body, interior and platform, the car sits on Stellantis's "Smart Car Platform". The exterior has some of Citroen's latest cues, including the new front "nostril" with redesigned chevron logo.

Also, all models come equipped with advanced comfort seats and suspension ensuring the car is as relaxing as possible on a long journey.

WHAT'S UNDER THE BONNET?

The C3 is available as petrol or hybrid, but we're testing the e-C3.

It has a 44kWh battery pack and single electric motor generating 113bhp and 124Nm torque. It can also do 0-60 mph in 10.2 seconds and hits a top speed of 82 mph.

Citroen claims it can go up to 199 miles on one charge and 100kW DC rapid charging is compatible, enabling a 20-80% top-up in 26 minutes.
