Berta shifts his focus to the exit door

ANDREA BERTA has worked around the clock to secure new signings for Mikel Arteta since joining Arsenal in March.

His immediate influence on both discussions and dealings was reflected via the £63.7million statement capture of Viktor Gyokeres, who bagged his first goal for the Gunners yesterday in their final preseason clash. “His goals, his threat, he pins both centre-backs. He’s a player you leave him the space one-on-one then he’s going to destroy you,” Arteta said.

Berta made a big internal push for the Swede, who is poised to lead the line at Old Trafford in next Sunday’s Premier League opener.
