Scots still in play-off picture
-
EDINBURGH kept their faint URC playoff hopes alive as they fought back from 14-0 down to beat fellow strugglers Scarlets.
Two tries from scrumhalf Ben Vellacott plus touchdowns from skipper Magnus Bradbury and Harry Paterson earned the club a much-needed bonus point.
They were 13th in the 16-team table before kickoff last night - seven points adrift of the top eight but three points better off than their Welsh opponents.
Wingers Darcy Graham and Duhan van der Merwe plus forwards Pierre Schoeman, Ewan Ashman, Grant Gilchrist and Freddy Douglas were all kept back by Scotland ahead of next week's Six Nations clash with France.
Six other internationals were out injured.
Bradbury and prop Darcy Rae had both been released by the national squad but Edinburgh were still under strength going into the must-win showdown.
Scarlets had similar issues, with skipper Josh MacLeod and wing Tom Rogers back from Wales duty but six other players involved in last week’s 26-23 defeat by Scotland were kept back by national head coach Steve Tandy.
