IBROX LEGEND WRITES EXCLUSIVELY FOR YOU EVERY WEEK

- BARRY FERGUSON

SOME people like to call it squeaky bum time.

But I have my own personal favourite phrase for what's about to unfold at the top of the Premiership table over the course of the next six weeks.

Big cojones time.

And with just two more rounds of fixtures to come before the top flight splits for the run-in, we're about to find out whose are growing at just the right time... and whose are shrinking at the thought of it.

Let's be blunt. We have all heard the accusations that have been flying around for some years now.

There's no shortage of folk out there who say Rangers are not mentally strong enough to cope with the pressure when push comes to shove and that their players have a track record of falling flat on their faces when it matters most of all.

But, having had the privilege of working with some of these guys last season and getting to know what makes them tick as men, I don't buy that.

Not for a single second.

Tomorrow they will walk out at a packed Ibrox knowing a win over Dundee United will take them into top spot for the first time in something like two years.

That's an opportunity they have to reach out and grab... by the scruff of the neck.

I'm also sure it will be for less than 24 hours because, if I were them, I'd take it as read Hearts will win away to Livingston on Sunday afternoon.

I would also be fully expecting Celtic to take three points away from Dens Park later the same day.

Neither of those things are certain. Far from it. In fact, there is a high possibility they won't.

I was in West Lothian a few weeks ago when Rangers dropped two points there, so Livi will be no pushovers on their own pitch.
