Appeal rules that garden feature must be ripped up

A COUPLE whose decking sparked a war of words with their neighbour have been ordered to tear it down.

Jochen and Fiona Schmerbitz failed to secure planning permission from Highland Council when they put up the wooden structure at their £400,000 Inverness home last year.

A probe was launched which saw the council rule that the decking would have to be pulled up and the fencing pulled down.
