Graphic CCTV reveals moment gangster Monaghan is trapped and gunned down in cold blood

- RYAN CARROLL

THERE'S NO ESCAPE

THIS is the moment a gangland assassin shot dead a Scots crime lord in a Costa del Sol pub in a bloody double killing.

Ross Monaghan and Eddie Lyons jnr were executed after watching the Champions League final on Saturday.

Graphic CCTV footage shows the gunman dressed in black zeroing in on Monaghan as he stumbles and drops helplessly to his knees.

Two innocent bystanders run for their lives before the hitman calmly fires at least four bullets into Monaghan’s chest and belly at close range.

Monaghan, 43, the owner of Monaghans Irish Bar in Fuengirola where the murders happened, died at the scene while his friend Lyons was shot dead on the pavement outside.

The assassin, who is rumoured to be Scottish but has yet to be arrested, appeared to be wearing a black baseball cap, a black jacket and black shorts, and a white T-shirt round his neck he is thought to have used to hide his face before striking.

Local reports said Lyons, 46, was killed instantly outside but Monaghan had a chance to try to escape because the gunman’s weapon initially jammed.

CCTV shows him with blood seeping through his white T-shirt from a chest wound, propping himself up on a table before collapsing.

Other video shows Lyons lying dead on his back in shorts and a T-shirt outside as a nurse gives CPR. A Scottish man can be heard yelling, “Help him!” as he lies bleeding on the ground.

Spanish police confirmed they had yet to make arrests after the murders. A spokesman said: “The investigation is continuing into the fatal shooting of two men at a pub in Fuengirola, with nothing new at the moment.”

Despite claims a third person was injured in hospital, the spokesman added: “There is no record of another person or people being injured.”
