Sutton reckons Rodgers would be within rights to quit Parkhead after transfers farce
CHRIS SUTTON insists Brendan Rodgers would be forgiven for walking out on Celtic on the back of the club's deadline-day disaster.
The Hoops sold Adam Idah to Swansea for £6million but failed to land any frontline replacements before the window shut on Monday night. Club chiefs were trying to scramble a deal for free agent Kelechi Iheanacho after the former Leicester hitman's Sevilla contract was ripped up. And last night they biggest transfer fee Rangers have paid since smashing the Scottish record in 2000 with the £12m capture of Tore Andre Flo from Chelsea.
But McCoist, who knows more than most about what it takes to hit the back of the net for the club, isn't mistaking big money as a guarantee of success.
And he is asking why Rangers didn't spend their cash on players they know could produce the goods, having done so before.
