TOMORROW'S ANOTHER SAY

THE first hour or so after full-time on an Edinburgh derby can be dangerous territory for any player or manager near a microphone.

Emotions are running high and adrenaline can shatter the filter setting in even the most experienced managers.

Remember Lee Johnson being “sick to death of the mediocrity” of his Hibs forwards after a dull yin off Hearts a few years back. And John Collins once dubbed the Jambos as a pub team.

There was a famous spat when Craig Levein accused Tony Mowbray of eating a “lorry load of sour grapes” after the former Easter Road boss accused Hearts of being physical.

And don't get me started on Levein's “natural order” guff. Neil Lennon well and truly clamped that by ensuring Hibs finished 18 points ahead of the Gorgie lot that season.

But it must be hard to hold your wheesht when you're either sitting on cloud nine or slumped in the deepest of derby dumps.

I'm just glad it wasn’t me having to face the media pack within 45 minutes of that last-gasp, gut-wrenching defeat for Hibs at Tynecastle on Saturday night.
