And after a whirlwind six months in Sweden with Hammarby, the ex-Haugesund star is determined to lay down roots in Glasgow and make a lasting impact.
He said: “I want to stay at Celtic for many years and develop and take big steps. Hopefully, I will stay here for many years.
“It's the biggest season for me so far.
“It has been really good to just enjoy everything. I'm just happy to become a Celtic player and to have the opportunity to play here.
“As a player, my mind is always on helping the team and improving as a player.
I know that I can do it here in Celtic. I don’t care too much about what the prize is and what they pay.
“The only focus is to try to help the team, win games and contribute with goals and assists.”
Celtic had tracked Tounekti all summer and the dazzling attacker admits he always had his heart set on a move to Parkhead.
