Chris goes from being hooked 23 minutes in against Gers to bouncing back with a belter vs Buddies

- FRASER WILSON AT THE SMISA STADIUM

SUPERSNUB TO TOP MAN

CHRIS CADDEN took his 23rd-minute hook against Rangers on the chin.

And the right wing-back picked himself up off the floor to hit back in the best possible way - by delivering the knockout blow against St Mirren.

Cadden admits being subbed midway through a tortuous first half in Hibs' 1-0 defeat to Rangers 12 days ago was a body blow.

Already on a booking and struggling to contain Jayden Meghoma, his number went up as David Gray decided to act swiftly.

The 29-year-old was an unused sub three days later in the 2-2 draw with Livingston.

But Cadden was back in from the start as Hibs ended a two-and-a-half year wait for a league win over St Mirren on Saturday night.

His sweetly struck 53rd-minute goal, the away side's second of the evening, capped a powerful performance as the men in stripes were left seeing stars.

And Cadden insists it was payback for his manager's faith after his Gers nightmare.

He said: "The gaffer's been amazing with me, not even just as manager but ever since he was a player and then coach. We have a brilliant relationship.

"We sat and spoke about it the next day and there were no qualms for me. I've got to do better, I know that. Getting booked early on doesn't help.
