A RECORD number of us will book a holiday today as wintry conditions get families dreaming of sunny escapes.

The post-Christmas lull and chilly weather is expected to prompt thousands to take the plunge, according to experts.

The first Saturday after the festive period is dubbed “Sunshine Saturday” with it forecast to be the busiest single day of the year for holiday bookings.
