Sunshine deserts Leith as two wonder strikes break Hibs' hearts

HIBS were undone by two worldies as they were sent crashing out of the Europa League by Midtjylland.

Following a goalless 90 minutes, all the goals came in extra-time and it was the hosts that came up short.

Following a 1-1 first leg, the Danes took the lead through Dario Osorio’s stunning strike from distance before Junior Brumado scored an overhead kick winner with just a minute to play after Rocky Bushiri brought Hibs level.

It was harsh on the Leith outfit after thinking they had done enough to at least take the tie to penalties.

David Gray's side now drop into the Conference League third qualifying round and will face Partizan Belgrade in Serbia next Thursday. Roared on by the 19,536 attendance began to get anxious for the first time.

NEW BOYS STAND UP

Hibs gaffer David Gray named the same starting XI that picked up that encouraging 1-1 draw in Herning last week and that meant just two new boys were in from the first minute.
