Statins fears eased

Many side effect beliefs around cholesterol drug are unfounded

PATIENTS taking statins have been given a lift after a study found they do not cause many of their supposed side effects.

People who are on the drug were no more likely to suffer memory loss, depression, sleep problems, erectile dysfunction, weight gain, nausea, fatigue and headaches than those given a placebo, researchers found.
