Wright reckons hot favourites 'won't click'

PETER WRIGHT reckons the England pairing heavily tipped to retain the World Cup might not turn out be the Dream Team after all.

World No.1 Luke Humphries and 2025 world champion Luke Littler, on his tourney debut, are miles ahead of the rest of the competitors in the PDC rankings.

But Scotland star Wright, who is joined by fellow two-time world champion Gary Anderson for the third seeds, is not convinced the favourites will blow the rest away in Frankfurt.

Humphries and Michael Smith won the World Cup title last year while Phil Taylor and Adrian Lewis won the competition four times in five years from 2012-16.
